The unravelling of AAP & the hypocrisy of their anti-corruption crusade
We are witnessing the unravelling of the Aam Aadmi Party and their rhetoric of fighting corruption. As per the revelations by a former Minister of the Delhi Government, Shri Arvind Kejriwal was handed Rs 2 crore by State Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain. The now former Minister, Shri Kapil Mishra also alleged that Shri Jain had told him of a “Rs 50 crore land deal” which Shri Jain had settled for a relative of Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and attacked AAP’s hypocrisy on corruption: “The thing I like about the truth is, it has a habit of coming out.” Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President, Ajay Maken said that the charges made by Shri Kapil Sharma were tantamount to a witness testimony of a sitting Minister in the Government and not just an allegation. The Chief Minister should step down immediately.
The Aam Aadmi Party claimed it was formed to fight corruption and they canvassed for votes on that front, and this latest revelation has found that they are nothing more than hypocrites. Leaders of AAP have spoken derisively about Congress leaders, linking them to scams, but not an iota of evidence has been presented by AAP against any Congress leader. If the AAP had any evidence, surely they would have taken action by now.
The fact is, AAP is nothing more than the B-team of the BJP. The charges made by the recent Shunglu Committee report have been forgotten or indeed forsaken. The BJP Government has not lodged even a single FIR against AAP on the various charges of illegal allotment of land, nepotism and their unauthorised foreign trips.
To expect the Modi Government to take action would be a stretch, because the Prime Minister himself is embroiled in numerous scams & bribery allegations in the Sahara-Birla Diary Case. The BJP will not investigate these allegations against Shri Kejriwal because they would then be under pressure to investigate the Prime Minister as well.
A nexus has been built in New Delhi, to the benefit of Shri Kejriwal and Shri Modi, and it is the common people who are suffering.
