Congress reiterates demand for SC Monitored probe into NEET scam

Spokesperson: Shri Gaurav Gogoi: He said that - The Congress Party believes that the BJP government’s attitude towards the ongoing demand for an inquiry into the NEET exam, is irresponsible and insensitive. We demand a Supreme Court monitored investigation into this entire scandal, which has affected around 24 lakh students. Ordinary families have been forced to cough up amounts close to Rs.30 lakhs due to promises given to them by different coaching centres and examination centres. We believe that no inquiry can be just and fair, and a comprehensive inquiry, if the inquiry is headed by the NTA themselves.

The NTA Chairperson should be removed from his post and Prime Minister Modi, who likes giving examination advice to class 10th students should not forget the mental anxiety of these potential undergraduates. Instead of paying attention to the NEET scam, he is busy attending oath taking ceremonies and going abroad on foreign trips. Rest assured; the INDIA alliance will take up the cause of these students because that is our responsibility, any time the BJP government wants to run away, avoid their responsibility to the people of India. Now, the INDIA alliance has the sufficient strength to bring the government to its knees and make them accountable to the students.

I credit Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji to take up the issue of the NEET exam as soon as the results were declared. It is a mystery, why these results were declared on 4th June. It can only point that they knew that there was a storm brewing and they wanted to avoid any discussion on these NEET results by declaring them on 4th June, when the entire country would be talking about the election results. So, that’s what I had to say. We want a Supreme Court monitored investigation into this entire scandal because the lives of 24 lakh young Indians cannot be toyed with. Thursday, June 13, 2024
