Congress slams BJP’s manifesto; it is full of empty promises

Spokespersons: Shri Pawan Khera, Ms. Supriya Shrinate and Shri Amitabh Dubey: Shri Pawan Khera said that today, Modi Ji’s guarantee letter or resolution letter is going to be released. Whatever name they want to give to this resolution letter or Modi’s guarantee letter, we have a strong objection to this name. Its name should be ‘Maafinama’ (An apology letter) and anyway, he is an expert in apologies.

On page number 5 of their 2014 manifesto, they had made a promise that they will bring back black money by forming a special task force, what happened - electoral bonds have arrived. What was written on page number 6 that the falling currency will be reformed? What happened today, the dollar crossed 83. Page number 8 stated that we will strengthen law and order in North East. Now sir is neither able to go to Manipur nor is he able to say a single word on Manipur. This is the reality!

There are many such phrases and it is surprising that their number two in this government and their party, Amit Shah, himself says that they are mere ‘Jumlas’. Nothing can be worse for the Prime Minister of a country than that people lose faith in his words and start calling him a liar.

Shri Amitabh Dubey said- Thanks Pawan ji. When our team wanted to sit down and see what their catchphrases were, such a long list came that I will have to just list a few of them out for you. So, we have taken just three sectors – agriculture, employment and education. I will tell you whatever promises they made about this and what is the truth. So as far as agriculture is concerned, the claim was that farmers’ income would be doubled by 2022 and the truth is that their income has decreased; It has not increased, it has decreased. What has doubled – their debt.

PM-Kisan- to cover all the farmers in the country – This was the claim. The truth about the beneficiaries is that the number of beneficiaries has fallen by 67 percent. Another claim was that of Short-term new agriculture loans up to one lakh rupees. The interest for those whose duration is one to five years will be zero percent. It was promised to give zero percent interest, the reality is that the farmer has to pay seven percent in the Kisan Credit Card.

Now let’s see jobs - employment. The most important claim was - Increase the share of the manufacturing sector in GDP to 25 per cent and create 100 million manufacturing jobs. And instead of 10 crores, there was a loss of 2.5 crore jobs between 2016 and 2021. The share of GDP has also decreased.

Now let’s see education. The claim was Provide smart classes to children at secondary level in government schools which means that there will be smart classrooms in every class. Out of ten lakh government schools, only 37,000 schools have got computers.

So, I am just talking about the manifesto of 2019, the list of 2014 is even longer. So, this is their truth, whatever they write in the manifesto, it is a false promise, a hollow promise and it has no value, the whole country has now understood this.

Smt. Supriya Shrinate said- There was a press conference of one hour and 40 minutes, in which not a single question from the journalists was taken, because if questions had been taken, questions would have been raised!

It is a prominent matter that on March 30, just 13 days ago, the BJP manifesto committee was formed and their manifesto was ready within 13 days. It must have been easy, it’s a ‘Jumla’ (catchphrase). What to do, stick four phrases here. A list of friends must have come, Amit Shah and Modi ji must have sat and copy-pasted it and Nadda ji must have taken a good photocopy, hence the manifesto was ready in 13 days and is in front of you.

Now some things have been said in this manifesto, I would definitely like to discuss about them. In its manifesto, BJP said - We have taken 25 crore people out of the poverty line and linked the IMF to this. NITI Aayog also believes that 20 percent of the country’s population is forced to survive on Rs. 46 per day. This should have been in the manifesto. Every hour two farmers and two youth are committing suicide in this country. There is no mention about it.

I feel that they have neither given any solution to inflation, nor given any solution to jobs, nor have they talked about women’s respect, nor have they talked about farmers, nor about youth, nor about China’s encroachment and instead, they have turned a blind eye to the martyrdom that is taking place in Jammu and Kashmir.
