Fadnavis’ claims on investments

Spokesperson: Shri Atul Londhe Patil: Addressing a press conference, senior Party leader and spokesperson from Maharashtra Atul Londhe Patil question the Fadnavis government claimed that Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs. 30 lakh crores were signed during this Davos visit for the World Economic Forum Summit.

He asked how many of the companies, which signed the MoUs, were listed and registered. He disclosed that he had information that 70 to 80 per cent of these companies were not even registered. He also questioned the financial ability of these companies to honour the commitments made under the MoUs.

Shri Patil noted that in 2023-24, the Maharashtra government, then headed by Eknath Shinde, had claimed to have signed MoUs to the tune of Rs 3.6 lakh crore, while in 2024-25, the Fadnavis government claimed to have signed MoUs worth Rs.15 lakh crore. With the addition of the Rs. 30 lakh crores claimed this year, he said, the total promised investment over three years comes to nearly Rs. 50 lakh crore.

“Where is the investment on the ground?” he asked, adding that these claimed investments have neither translated into any production on the ground nor have generated jobs.

Accusing Fadnavis of lying and misleading the public, Patil remarked sarcastically that the way he lies qualifies him to be the Prime Minister of the country. Friday January 23, 2026
