Spokespersons: Shri Girish Chodankar and Shri Alok Sharma: Shri Alok Sharma said that today’s topic is very serious and the way the youth have been cheated from every angle in the last ten years. Today, a job scam has come to light in Goa regarding the same topic.
In the case of youth, along with any paper leak, a case of job scam also comes to light. Whether it is the Vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh, or the Uttarakhand assembly scam, or the Haryana case, or the paper leak in Gujarat, or the SSC paper case of 2017, or the UPSC scams that come to light, in which people become IAS through fake papers and the Chairman is from the UPSC institute that makes IAS, and he immediately resigns and runs away.
All these scams are somehow connected to BJP or people associated with BJP. Today a new case has come to light, which is related to at least one thousand jobs that have happened in Goa from 2019 to 2024 and it appears that embezzlement, fraud, scam of hundreds of crores has happened in this entire cash for job scam.
So far, around 20 FIRs have been filed. 12 in North Goa and 8 in South Goa and as per the news coming through the media, around 19 people have been arrested in this case so far.
When the Goa Staff Selection Commission Act came in 2019, why was it not implemented for 5 years and even if it was implemented, why was there scope for amendments in it and the amendments were made in such a way that this Act will not be applicable on all the advertisements or processes started before 2022. A similar bill was also introduced in the Parliament, you might remember. When the NEET scam happened, it was widely discussed that a bill was passed but it was not implemented.
Our entire State Congress Committee of Goa and all the Congress people raised this issue loudly. They raised it when everything came out and the whitewash started in the name of investigation. Even an audio clip came out. There is a woman in the audio clip who is talking about transactions and saying that I have connections with the officers and politicians. That lady has also been arrested.
Today the situation is such that people whose names are coming up in this Goa ‘cash for job scam’ have started committing suicide. A person was 51 years old. I will not think it right to name him - as soon as his name came up in the last few days, he committed suicide. The same thing used to happen in Vyapam as well. When CBI officers went to investigate, people were found lying on the railway platform. So, this scam like Vyapam one which is getting exposed layer by layer. Unfortunately, all the things that are coming out, there is only one thing in it, which has always been the method of BJP and RSS - deny, divert and distract. This is Goa’s Vyapam Part 2. There is whitewashing going on in the name of investigation. Amendments are being made in the Act. The intentions of the Chief Minister are questionable because the amendments were made on whose advice? What is the status today? Will the upcoming recruitments be done by SSC or will you bring some other amendment? Our simple demand is that a white paper should be published stating which recruitments were done after 2019, on which posts, and which extensions were given. What has been their process, when was the date of advertisement, what has been the selection process, what was the date of examination, what was the date of interview, everything should be made public, a white paper should be released. Secondly, the entire matter should be investigated under the aegis of a retired High Court Judge under the High-Powered Committee which is the Inquiry Commission of the State. Now if you have any questions related to this topic, you are cordially invited. I will tell Girish bhai that if he wants to add something then he should do so. Shri Girish Chodankar said that right now the Chief Minister’s spokesperson is saying that he implemented this Act. If the Chief Minister wants to take credit for implementing this Act, then why was the entire recruitment done from 2019 to 2024 not done under this Act? So, the first person who comes under the category is the Chief Minister of Goa, because the Chief Minister has facilitated all this for the department to do recruitment. So, the Chief Minister should answer. Since 2020, we have given all the letters, with my signature, to the government and the police, about how money transactions take place from the Chief Minister’s Office, how it is compromised, how answer papers are given to students, and how marks are also increased by making corrections. To cash in on this corruption for jobs, if you look at the entire list of five years, the jobs for OBC, SC and ST will be available only in the reserve list. The name of not even one OBC, SC, ST will appear in the general list because they have to sell the jobs in the general category. So, now the Chief Minister should also say what is his link with this entire ‘cash for job scam’ in Goa. Because as long as the Home Minister is with the Chief Minister, there will be no fair police investigation. Wednesday, November 13, 2024
