Spokesperson: Shri Manoj Kumar: He accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of betraying people of Bihar and also going back on the promise of cleaning the holy Ganga. He stated that the duo of Modi and Nitish Kumar had ruined Bihar beyond redemption, as evidenced by the rising pollution in the Ganga.

He disclosed that the NGT had imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the Bihar government for its serious negligence in maintaining cleanliness and controlling pollution in the Ganga River. A high level of FC bacteria indicates that the amount of human and animal excreta in the water is so high that NGT has declared it unfit for both drinking and bathing, he said. He informed that Bihar received Rs. 3,914.53 crores between 2014 and 2024 under the ‘Namami Gange’ programme, but more than half of the STPs are non-functional, and those that are operational have also failed to meet the required standards.

The Congress MP, while accusing Prime Minister Modi of making false promises during election rallies, recalled that in the 2014 and 2019 elections, he had promised to revive the closed sugar mill in Motihari and the Dalmianagar factory in Rohtas, both of which still remain closed.
