On Conducting Pan-India ‘Caste Census’

Spokesperson: Captain Ajay Singh Yadav: He said that the Bihar government released the ‘Caste Census’ on the birthday of our ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi and our former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri who gave the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan’; which will change the political direction of the country.

‘Caste Census’ was conducted in 2011, regarding the release of which many leaders from various platforms including Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Shri Rahul Gandhi put pressure on the Modi government to make this data public, but I don’t know what the BJP is afraid of. The ‘Caste Census’ of 2011 is not being revealed. When the Bihar government was conducting the ‘Caste Census’, RSS people tried to stop the process by repeatedly filing PILs in the High Court and the Supreme Court. But the people of BJP-RSS did not succeed in their conspiracy to stop the ‘Caste Census’. Being the National President of OBC, I want to ask the Bharatiya Janata Party that why backward castes do not get scholarships in the BJP-ruled states? Our participation in the judiciary, the Mudra loan under MSME is necessary for small or medium industries, but there is no special provision in it for giving loans to people of OBC category. There is a Backward Classes Commission in the state. In this, the appointments of 5 members are pending for 18 months till now, out of which there is only 1 Chairman and one member. Modi government is not able to consummate the National Backward Classes Commission.

In our convention held recently at Raipur, we took a decision that if our government is formed in 2024, we will implement women’s reservation with immediate effect and conduct ‘Caste Census’ in the entire country. - Tuesday, October 3, 2023
