Parliament is not meant to be a monument but it should be alive

Spokesperson: Shri Anand Sharma: He said that in a democracy, it is the duty of the government to ensure that Parliament functions. I have not seen any major democracy in the world obsessed with a new building of Parliament and Parliament doesn’t function and you are celebrating the building not worried that it is not meant to be a monument but it should be alive. The state of affairs of the economy is a monumental failure in the management of the Indian economy.

I have given the details of three important sectors; where heavy job losses have taken place in the month of March itself- construction industry, manufacturing industry and the retail sector. If you add up, are we marching forward or backward that’s a question. Surely, if you have to listen to the Finance Minister or the propaganda machinery of the government, everything is fine, there is nothing wrong. I have raised some other issues which have found resonance of concern nationally and globally, much has been said also about the decision deeply flawed in law in constitution that is Shri Rahul Gandhi’s conviction and disqualification.

I know today is the day when media attention as I was told by a media person, is elsewhere, but if there are any questions, which are relevant to the issues that I have spoken about, please do ask me. I don’t come every day, if anybody has questions, I will take it quickly and thank you. Wednesday, April 12, 2023
