Security lapse in Parliament

Spokesperson: Shri Jairam Ramesh: He said that as you all know, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have not been able to function for two days. After the security lapse that occurred on 13th, we had sought a statement from the Home Minister in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

Always when such an incident happens, the Minister who is concerned with it makes a statement on it and especially when the Parliament is in session, it has been a parliamentary tradition that the Minister makes a statement inside the Parliament. But our Home Minister is so arrogant that he goes to the TV channel and talks in detail about this incident, but he is not ready to say the same thing inside the Parliament.

So, it is a very strange thing that the Home Minister of our country, whose ministry is related to this, goes to the TV channels and talks about it in great detail in interviews. He is not ready to present the same thing in Parliament. First of all, you might remember that the government had said this on the 13thitself - this is not a big deal, this is a minor incident, this is an ordinary incident.

So, this is a very serious issue. It is connected to the security of the country, not just the security of the Parliament, it is connected to the security of the country.

So, I repeat, whatever our demand is, it is a direct demand, a real demand, a legal demand, a legitimate demand, the Parliament session is going on, the Home Minister should come inside the Parliament, inside the Lok Sabha, inside the Rajya Sabha and give a statement.

So, the first step is to give a statement and tell us what has been the role of the BJP MP in the context of this incident and after that there will be a little discussion on the questions that arise. Friday, December 15, 2023
