Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi met Ankita Bhandari’s family in New Delhi on August 15, 2026

New Delhi: I met Ankita Bhandari’s family two days ago. Four years have passed, yet they are still waiting for justice—justice for a crime committed against their daughter that is unforgivable. Ankita, just 19 years old, worked as a receptionist at the Vantara Resort; she was murdered by being drowned in the Chilla Canal after resisting the shameful demand of a ‘VIP’ guest. The post-mortem report confirmed evidence of violence and drowning.

However, Ankita’s room at the resort was demolished before any investigation could take place—an act that is in itself suspicious.

The most shameful aspect of this tragic case is that the state government itself continues to shield that ‘VIP’ to this day. Why? Because he is a prominent BJP-RSS leader.

This is the BJP’s twisted mindset: shielding rapists and criminals, providing them with political patronage, and even welcoming convicted rapists with garlands. The most despicable people in the world are those who protect rapists, and the BJP is teeming with such individuals.

India cannot move forward until the inhumane mindset that views women merely as objects for men’s use is eradicated. India will progress only when its women progress—with dignity, safety, equality, and justice.
