A ‘Yatra’ for the ‘Future of India’

The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is off to an incredible start. The Yatra kicked off with a massive public rally and a series of events in Kanyakumari on September 07. What was powerful about the day was the presence of a large number of people from all walks of life and every corner of India who came to show their support to this desperately needed initiative to save India’s soul. The Yatra commenced it’s long walk the next day led by Rahul ji, senior leaders of the Party, the Bharat Yatris who will be walking all the way to Kashmir, state Yatris who walk in their own states, thousands of Congress workers and lacs of ordinary citizens.

Multiple powerful things have emerged in the first few weeks of the Yatra. Rahul Ji’s incredible energy, engagement, love for the people and the love they feel for him overflow in every step of the Yatra. The energy and enthusiasm of the Yatris and Congress workers has stood out as they walk untiringly and cheerfully through rain and shine. The outstanding organization of the entire Yatra team both from the AICC and the States is visible every day and deserves recognition. But most of all, the enthusiasm, love and response of the common people is on display all around us. Walking with us on the Yatra and cheering us from the sidelines are people from all walks of life, every religion and class of society, families, mothers with children in their arms, laborers and workers and students. They do not just come to see a spectacle, they come to encourage us, show us their support and join us in this mission to heal and unite India. Their number are growing by the day. The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is now much more than a Yatra, it is a people’s movement being propelled by the will of the Indian people to reclaim their mother land from the imposters who seek to divide and enslave us.

The last two weeks’ walking on the Yatra has been a spiritual journey for many of us who have had the fortune of walking on it. There is little doubt that we are watching history being scripted. This Yatra will redefine and reclaim the course of Indian politics and the Indian Nation. It will be another feather in the Congress Party’s long history of working with the Indian people to define the politics of the times.

As the Yatra progresses, lacs and crores of our Party workers and fellow citizens will join this movement and raise a tide that will drown out the voices of falsehood and hatred. Walk on Rahul ji. India walks with you.
