Modi ji’s 12 years of mismanagement of India is now showing its ugly results. The education system is thoroughly corrupt. There are no jobs for our youth. Farmers are reeling from soaring costs, inadequate price for their crops, and a government machinery that seeks to privatize agriculture. Rural laborers have been devastated by the end of MGREGA which was a lifeline in their difficult lives. Inflation is unchecked. And India has lost its standing on the global stage.

The youth of India are leading the way in raising their voice against this crisis. After the Gen Z protests, there are now reports of even school children protesting against the administration over the sorry state of educational infrastructure. Farmers are marching to Delhi to raise their demands and there is unrest in rural India over the collapse of the rural economy. Modi ji senses that things are now beyond his control. His hands are now literally shaking in fear.

The upcoming state elections will surely deliver a verdict that will shake this government to its very core. But as its day of accountability nears, the Modi government is up to its usual tricks to distract the people. Their latest story is about our national song, ‘Vande Mataram’. It is the Congress that gave this song its recognition and place in India’s consciousness. It is Congress workers who went to the gallows and faced the lathis of the British with ‘Vande Mataram’ on their lips. It is the Congress that sings this song at the beginning of every flag-hoisting at Party programmes. It is therefore laughable that the Modi government is trying to give the Congress Party lessons about how to properly respect our national song. As with all such issues, Modi ji and his friends in the RSS care nothing for ‘Vande Mataram’. Their only interest is to use our venerated national symbol to advance their divisive agenda and distract people from the real issues that matter.

This old trick will no longer work. The people have risen. They can’t be denied. They will rest only when they show Modi ji the door.
