The Armed Forces Defended the Nation’s Honour

But the Government has much to explain…

On 22nd April, 2025, one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on Indian soil unfolded in the beautiful meadows of Pahalgam in Kashmir. The Pakistan-sponsored terrorists brutally massacred 26 people in a brazen act of aggression against the Indian spirit. The entire Country, all political parties, and citizens from across the Country came together to send a message to the terrorists and Pakistan that such cowardly acts of violence cannot damage the Indian spirit and that we would be united in our response.

Our armed forces, always the forefront of the defense of India’s honour, undertook a measured but decisive operation that neutralized multiple terror bases. They demonstrated to the terrorists and Pakistan that there is no safe refuge for anyone who dares harm India. The face of the armed forces daily briefing was also India at its very best. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh gave us daily updates and also reminded us to preserve the unity that has kept us strong.

But in all of this, the Modi Government has much to explain. While the crisis was unfolding, every major Party gave the Government unconditional support to ensure that the terrorists were given a befitting reply. But Modi ji did not reciprocate the courtesy. He refused to take anyone into confidence, refused to have serious briefings or consultations with the many knowledgeable people in other parties and insisted on making it another Modi show. While the armed forces were making sure every day to communicate a measured and authentic update about what was going on, Modi’s Godi media was creating stories as per their imagination and whipping up a frenzy in the public imagination. Eventually, Modi Ji’s troll army did not even spare the Foreign Secretary when he announced the ceasefire. The ceasefire itself presents many troublesome questions. When our armed forces were undertaking operations in Pakistan, why was the Modi government in talks brokered by Donald Trump? Will President Trump now be the one to decide what India will do? Why was the first announcement of the ceasefire from Donald Trump? Does America now manage Modi ji’s foreign policy? And finally, a BJP minister from Madhya Pradesh has the audacity to equate Colonel Sofiya Qureshi’s identity with that of terrorists. The Courts have taken exceptional note of this and insisted on action against the Minister. But Modi ji is defending his minister. Will Modi ji take action against those who insult our women in uniform?

The lions of our armed forces defended our honour, even as the mice of the Modi Government did everything possible to undermine it. A grateful Nation pays its tribute to our men and women in uniform.
