The RSS has anointed itself as the defender of India’s ancient culture and social traditions. But in reality, the RSS has no understanding of Indian civilization and its glorious heritage. All this talk of our history is simply a means to achieve their real agenda, to impose the laws of ‘Manu’ upon Indian society.

Two incidents in the past few weeks illustrate their real agenda. The first is the heinous, so called ‘purification’ of a place visited by Hon. Congress President. This deeply offensive and discriminatory act is untouchability in its modern form. It is a crime against humanity, it is blatantly anti-constitutional and a criminal offence. Not only did the RSS-BJP permit this crime, they defended those who undertook them and are shielding the perpetrators. The other incident is the reaction of the RSS-BJP to the call Rahul Ji gave in Pune to smash ‘Manu Smriti’ based patriarchy. Rather than accept the discrimination faced by women and its source in ‘Manu Smriti’, the BJP leaders instead defended the ‘Manu Smriti’ as part of Indian philosophy and attacked Rahul ji for supposedly insulting Indian culture.

Both these events show that the RSS-BJP have only one agenda. It is to impose a structure on India where they and a few of their friends dominate with the large masses of India’s Dalits, Adivasis, women, poor and minorities enslaved as second class citizens as prescribed by the ‘Manu Smriti’. India will never accept this vision. This is the reason Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar burnt the ‘Manu Smriti’ and gave us a Constitution that saves future generation from this dark, discriminatory vision. It is this vision of the Constitution that will continue to guide us today and in the future.
