Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Diary

The aim of this ‘Nyay Yatra’ is to fight for Nyay; to strengthen our nation. The ‘Nyay Yatra’ began on January 14, 2024, from Manipur and will pass through 14 states and 85 districts, culminating in Mumbai on March, 20, 2024– spanning a distance of nearly 6,700 Kms over the course of about 63 days.

The ‘Yatra’ has already received an overwhelming response; lakhs of people accompanied by Congress leaders, have joined the movement to raise their voice against the economic justice, social justice and political justice. Democracy has to be saved. The Constitution has to be saved. We have to show a new future, a bright future, to crores of families who are suffering from inflation and unemployment.

People from all walks of life are coming together to be a part of this historic movement. ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is also going to be the historic one just like the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge flaged off. The diary of this ‘Nyay Yarta’ will be published in parts:-

Day 1: January 14, 2024: Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Begins

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ got off to a rousing start from Manipur, taking its first steps towards bringing ‘Nyay’ to the citizens of India. The Yatra was launched enthusiastically raising slogans of ‘Nyay Ka Haq Milne Tak’ and ‘Saho Mat, Daro Mat.’. Shri Gandhi paid a floral tribute to the martyrs at Khongjom War Memorial before arriving at the launch ceremony.

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge handed over the National Flag to Shri Gandhi and announced the launch of the Yatra. Five young children from a relief camp in Lambing district of Manipur were the first batch of Co-passengers with Shri Gandhi on the ‘Mohabbat ki Dukaan’ bus. “Any individual in the country who feels subjected to injustice, experiencing any form of unfair treatment, holds the potential to transform into a Nyay Yoddha. If you harbour the aspiration to become a Nyay Yoddha, give a missed call at 9891802024.”

Day 2: January 15, 2024: Nyay Ka Haq, Milne Tak

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ resumed from Sekmai, West Imphal, for Nagaland at 8 AM. The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ stopped at Brigadier Thomas Ground in Kangpokpi around 9.30 AM. Here, Shri Gandhi addressed the gathering by informing them about the purpose of the Yatra and why the Congress Party decided to start the Yatra from Manipur. Shri Gandhi met several people from different communities in Kangpokpi and heard about their problems. In Senapti, North Imphal, Shri Gandhi addressed the crowd atop the bus.

Post lunch, the Yatra started from Karong ground to Mao Gate. On the way, Shri Rahul Gandhi stopped at a small tea shop. The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ will stop for the night at Khuzma Ground in Nagaland.

The Naga Hoho is a federation of all Naga tribes. The Naga Hoho is a tribe-based apex body of the Nagas under the traditional system of the Naga people. The delegation informed Shri Rahul Gandhi about the non-fulfilment of the agreement signed between the Government of India (GoI) and NCSN-IM on August 3, 2015. They also submitted a memorandum to the Congress leader in this context. Leaders of the Hoho organisation said that in 2015, the PM and the GoI had presented this agreement as an achievement of the GoI and a solution to the problems of the Naga community. But even after nine years, the government has not fulfilled its promise.

Day 3: January 16, 2024: Religion is Personal

The third day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ proceeded with a reception hosted by the Visema Municipal Council. Shri Gandhi then went on to pay homage to the martyrs of WW II at Kohima War Memorial. The convoy reached Phulbari, made an impromptu stop at a sports stadium where the Kohima Village Sports Association had organised a week-long sports meet. For the lunch break, the Yatris along with Shri Rahul Gandhi halted at SCERT College Ground Chiephobozou Town, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ proceeded from Rengma Sports Association Ground, Tseminyu. Shri Rahul Gandhi attended a Football match and watched it while sitting alongside kids. In the evening while addressing the crowd in Wokha, acknowledged and thanked the people of Nagaland for their love and respect.

Day 4: January 17, 2024

On the fourth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, it stopped for the night at Aohadang Ground Tuli in Makokchung. After the cultural event at VK Town, Shri Gandhi started his morning journey through Nagaland in a jeep. On his way to Mokokchung, Shri Gandhi’s convoy was invited by locals of Alichen village for a tea break. On the way to Mokokchung, Shri Gandhi saw a biker group and stopped to chat with them. Shri Gandhi’s love for bikes is no secret to those who know him. Shri Gandhi and the Yatris took a break for lunch at Chuchuyimlang village grounds. After lunch, Shri Gandhi went to visit Nagaland Gandhi Ashram, situated in Chuchuyimlang. The Nagaland Gandhi Ashram was established by Shri Natwar Thakkar in 1955. Shri Gandhi also met the late Shri Thakkar’s wife, a Padma awardee and social activist, Mrs. Lentina Ao.

Day 5: January 18, 2024: Assam CM is the Most Corrupt CM of India

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, after spending the night at Aohadang Ground Tuli, Mokokchung began its journey 17 km from Tuli stopped at Jorhat, Assam. The Congress Party unit in Assam organised a programme to welcome Shri Gandhi at the Assam-Nagaland border. The programme started with the handing over the National Flag by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President S. Supongmeren Jamir to the Assam PCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah. Shri Gandhi lashed out at the State BJP government and said- ‘Probably the most corrupt government runs in Assam.”

The people whom Shri Gandhi met today were the Delimitation Delegation and Tribal Delegation. The delegation informed Shri Gandhi about the status of the delimitation exercise and the problems surrounding the same. Besides the delimitation delegation, Shri Gandhi also got to interact with the Tribal Community delegation. The Yatra stopped at Puthinadi, Jorhat, for lunch. After lunch, the Yatra left for Nimati Road, Jorhat.

Shri Gandhi met a delegation of Civil Society members representing Tea plantation workers. The group informed about their dire working condition and meagre wages. After this, Shri Gandhi left for Kumar Gaon, Nimati Road, Jorhat, where the night halt arrangements were made.

Day 6: January 19, 2024

The sixth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ began in a silent spiritual journey across the Brahmaputra on a boat, convoy left Nimati Ghat to board a boat to Majuli Island. Several top Party leaders, including General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, State President, and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, accompanied Shri Gandhi. Shri Gandhi’s next destination was Alafa Ferry Coast, from where he had to go to Kamalabari by car. In Kamalabari, Shri Gandhi addressed a gathering where he sharply criticised the State and Central government and their policies.

The Yatra moved to its next destination, i.e. Auniati Satra. Auniati Satra is a Satra/Monastery situated at the Majuli, Assam. Shri Gandhi spent some time here and then moved to Garamur. From Garamur, the Yatra left for Jengraimukh. The day’s lunch arrangements were made at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Jengraimukh.

After lunch, Shri Rahul Gandhi’s convoy left for Dhakuakhana, 20 km from Jengremukh. Because of the road conditions, Shri Gandhi had to travel by car. But from Jengremukh, the Yatra resumed on the bus. Shri Rahul Gandhi met with a few delegations; the first delegation was a group of academicians and environmentalists from Assam.

A delegation consisting of educationists from Assam and people working for the upliftment of the indigenous Mising tribe of Assam also met Shri Gandhi. They asked for, Economic Justice: preventing soil erosion, protection from adverse effects of dams, Social Justice: Strengthening Mising languages, demand for better education, and Political Justice: More power to the Mising Autonomous Council. For the evening Tea, Shri Gandhi stopped at a local Mising tribe member’s home in Pomua village. Shri Muhiram Pegu and his family welcomed Shri Gandhi with love and affection.

Day 7: January 20, 2024

Today’s Yatra began from Boginadi, Lakhimpur, Shri Gandhi today met the members of Tai Ahom delegation. The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ proceeded to ‘Padumoni Than’. Shri Gandhi spent a few moments drawing inspiration from the tranquil atmosphere of the Temple. The Yatra then stopped at Govindpur, Lakhimpur, for Lunch. Post lunch, the yatra moved towards Harmutti, Lakhimpur, from where it was to enter Arunachal Pradesh.

The Nyay Yatra had reached Gumta, where the Assam PCC President handed the national flag to the Arunachal Pradesh PCC President. This marked the entry of the Yatra into Arunachal Pradesh.

Shri Gandhi undertook a Padyatra from Mithun Gate, Itanagar. Then Shri Gandhi had an interaction with Shri Toke Tekom. Shri Tekom was the representative of the Arunachal Pradesh Olympic Association. He mentioned how China had denied accreditation to him and other sports persons. After this, the next stop of the Yatra was Doimukh, where Shri Gandhi addressed the young crowd, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ left for Chimpu village, Itanagar, where the provision for the night halts.

Day 8: January 21, 2024: ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ Convoy Attacked

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ unfolded as the journey moved from the Rajgad-Hollongi border towards Biswanath, Arunachal Pradesh, a significant meeting between Shri Gandhi and Adv. Amoni Diru Pulom, whose father-in-law had been abducted by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in 2015. The convoy then reached the Morning Star School in Rajgarh, Assam, Shri Gandhi’s convoy made its way to the memorial of freedom fighters Swahit Kanaklata and Mukund Kakati; a poignant moment unfolded as he offered floral tributes.

Following the Congress President, Shri Rahul Gandhi addressed the public gathering. Speaking about the attacks on the Yatra, he directly criticised the central and state governments. He stated, “For the past two to three days, I have been traversing the roads of Assam as part of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’. Wherever I go, people are naming the most corrupt CM of India – Hemant Biswa Sarma…..” With the proclamation of “Do not fear, do not tolerate,” today’s yatra proceeded towards the camp for the night’s rest.

Day 9: January 23, 2024: Shri Rahul Gandhi Stopped from Temple Visit

The ninth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ kicked off with heightened tension. The Nyay Yatra set forth from the camp towards the Bordowa Than. Shri Gandhi was slated to visit and offer prayers at the temple of Shri Sankardev. The Congress Party had obtained prior permission for Shri Gandhi’s temple visit.

However, despite this, upon reaching the Bordowa Than temple this morning, Shri Gandhi was barred from entering, citing law and order issues by the state government. In protest, Shri Gandhi, along with Congress senior leader K.C. Venugopal, Youth Congress President B.V. Srinivas, and several Congress leaders and workers, staged a peaceful sit-in on the road. The gathering sang the ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ bhajan, and both men and women joined in solidarity. Shri Gandhi interacted with the people present, including children.

Addressing the media, Shri Gandhi stated, “The order to prevent me from entering the temple came from ‘above’ They don’t want me to go to the temple….” No matter how many conspiracies the government may hatch, ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ will not stop. Shri Rahul Gandhi now proceeded towards the Nongpoh village in Meghalaya, passing through Jorabat with thousands in attendance. Here, Shri Rahul Gandhi undertook a nearly 2-kilometer Padyatra. The Yatra reached the ground at Pahamsyiem Village, where Shri Rahul Gandhi addressed the crowd. He said, ‘Thank You for the tremendous welcome when I arrived. Thank you for walking with me in the last 1-2 km. “Meghalaya is not ruled by Meghalaya but from Delhi, and this is unacceptable to us. There are 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule, but your language Garo and Khasi have no place in that.” With this address, the ninth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ concluded, and the convoy proceeded towards Ribhoi.

Day 10: January 23, 2024: Paanch Nyay-Yuva, Kisaan, Naari, Shramik, Bhagidari

The tenth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ marked another episode of the journey’s resilience. In the morning, Shri Rahul Gandhi started the day with a meeting with members of the North East Coordination Committee (NECC). NECC shared concerns about the crisis faced by the states in the Northeast with Shri Gandhi. Following the NECC meeting, a scheduled interaction with students from USTM University in Jorabat was on the agenda. However, the Assam government, in an attempt to create obstacles for the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ and stifle Rahul Gandhi Ji’s pursuit of justice, directed the university management to deny him access to the students. In response, hundreds of students came out of the campus in solidarity. Shri Rahul Gandhi addressed the students, stating “…they are trying to turn you into a slave. But nobody, no force in this universe, can ever turn you into a slave. This country belongs to you, and this country has to follow your imagination.” Post this spontaneous interaction, Shri Rahul Gandhi met with members of civil society who shared their difficulties with him. Following this meeting, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ continued towards Guwahati. However, in Guwahati, the Assam government, in an authoritarian move, prevented Shri Rahul Gandhi and the Yatra convoy from entering the city, citing concerns about disturbing peace. Barricades were set up. Even Assam Police lathi-charged the Congress workers and NSUI members. Later, during the lunch break in Kamrup, Assam, Shri Rahul Gandhi addressed the Press. He talked about the five pillars of the ‘Nyay Yatra’, ie. PaanchNyay- Yuva Nyay; Bhagidari Nyay; Naari Nyay Kisaan Nyay; Shramik Nyay Shri Rahul Gandhi stated, ‘For these pillars, the Congress Party will present a programme in front of you in the next one and a half months.’ He also answered questions from the press. After lunch, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ resumed its journey. People affected by the NRL dumping ground handed over a memorandum to Shri Gandhi, and representatives working for those displaced due to the NRC also gave a memorandum and explained their issues. Before heading to the night camp, Shri Gandhi addressed a public gathering and said, ‘A few days ago, your Chief Minister tweeted that Dalits, backward classes, upper castes, and Brahmins are born to serve. What greater insult could there be?” For the night halt, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ headed towards Bishnupur in Assam.

Day 11: January 24, 2024: Assam Looted for Delhi and Nagpur

The eleventh day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ commenced with a visit to Shri Madan Gopal Gohain Than. The journey kicked off with Shri Gandhi addressing a crowd of hundreds from the car’s roof right after paying homage at the Gohain Than. Shri Gandhi once again launched a sharp attack on the Chief Minister of Assam. He said, ‘Your CM perpetuates hatred 24 hours…” After the altercation in Guwahati on the tenth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, the Assam CM filed an FIR against Shri Gandhi. In response, the Congress leader taunted Himanta Biswa Sarma, saying, ‘File as many cases against me as you want, I already have 20-25 cases, add 20-25 more. But Rahul Gandhi is not afraid of BJP-RSS and HBS.’ Following the public address, the Nyay Yatra bus left for the further journey. On both sides of the road, people surrounded the bus. Shri Rahul Gandhi halted the bus to interact with and address the people at various points. It was a testament to the immense love and enthusiasm of the people. Representatives from some affected areas also came to meet Shri Gandhi. Delegations from regions impacted by soil erosion shared their challenges. A group of people affected by the central government’s implementation of the NRC (National Register of Citizens) also met Shri Gandhi. They briefed him about the difficulties they have faced since the implementation of the NRC, seeking help and requesting him to raise their issue in Parliament in Delhi. Shri Gandhi noticed schoolchildren on the way and invited them to ride with him on the bus. The yatra reached Abhayapuri from Barpeta. Here, a roadshow was held where thousands of people joined with Shri Gandhi. For a mid-day break, the yatra halted in North Salmara, Bongaigaon. Here, Congress General Secretary Shri Jairam Ramesh addressed the media, elaborating on the announcement made by Shri Rahul Gandhi about the five pillars of the Nyay Yatra. After the lunch break, the Yatra proceeded towards its next destination, Chalbanda village. In Chalbanda, Dhubri, a crowd of thousands had gathered, eagerly awaiting Shri Gandhi. The Congress flag fluttered in the air, and almost everyone wore a Gandhi cap. Shri Gandhi addressed a massive public gathering, highlighting, ‘The Chief Minister in Assam is the most corrupt in the country…” After the public gathering, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ advanced towards Gauripur, where arrangements were made for a night’s rest.

Day 12: January 25, 2024

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ successfully wrapped up its seven-day journey in Assam and crossed the border of West Bengal. Commencing on the twelfth day, the Nyay Yatra was initiated in the Golakganj Chariali Village of Dhubri District.

On the way, hundreds of women outside the Halakura Gaon Panchayat office in Assam were anxiously waiting for Shri Gandhi’s arrival. Upon disembarking, Shri Gandhi engaged in conversations with them, addressed their concerns, and accepted their requests for photos. During the journey, Shri Gandhi met with representatives from the All-Assam Koch Rajbongshi Student’s Union (AKRSU). The union members voiced their demands and discussed the matter of ST status.

Around midday, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ convoy reached the Assam-West Bengal border. In Cooch Behar, the Assam Congress Committee orchestrated an event to symbolically transfer the national flag from the Assam Congress Committee to the West Bengal Congress Committee, marking the Nyay Yatra’s entry into Bengal. Addressing the gathering, Shri Gandhi remarked, “Today, we step into West Bengal from Assam. It brings me great joy to be in West Bengal. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. The INDIA Alliance together will fight against injustice because the BJP and RSS are perpetuating injustice in the country.” From this juncture, the Nyay Yatra convoy proceeded towards Falakata Alipurduar, where provisions for overnight rest were arranged. Shri Gandhi met with two local journalists on the way. He talked to them and answered the questions asked.

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ will take a brief hiatus on January 26 and 27, resuming on January 28.

Day 13 & 14: January 26-27, 2024: Rest.

Day 15: January 28, 2024

After a brief hiatus of two days, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ (BJNY) recommenced today. The day’s journey was slated to kick off from Siliguri in West Bengal. Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi arrived at Bagdogra Airport in the morning. Following a short break, the roadshow was initiated. Throughout the entire roadshow, a multitude of thousands accompanied Shri Gandhi. The atmosphere along the whole route was celebratory. Several individuals associated with the organisation, ‘No Vote for BJP’, met Shri Gandhi during the journey, vehemently opposing the BJP and its agenda. Representatives dedicated to developing and uplifting the people of North Bengal also met with Shri Gandhi. They presented a memorandum to Shri Gandhi. Workers from the tea gardens, engaged in demanding labour, also had an opportunity to interact with Shri Gandhi. They shared their challenges, including meagre wages and exploitation by contractors.

Upon reaching Siliguri, Shri Gandhi and Bharat Jodo received an enthusiastic welcome for their Justice Yatra. In Siliguri, a group of local artists welcomed Shri Gandhi with the traditional beats of the dhak. Shri Gandhi called upon the audience, stating, ‘Bengal holds a special place. When the struggle against the British was underway, the people of Bengal made ideological contributions. After this, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ convoy set off towards Sonapur in Uttar Dinajpur for the night’s rest.

Day 16: January 29, 2024: No One Understands Social Justice Better Than Bihar

The sixteenth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ commenced in Chopra, North Dinajpur, West Bengal. The enthusiasm and support from the people continued as the bus embarked on its journey towards Bihar, crossing the Bengal border. The first destination in Bihar was Kishanganj. The Nyay Yatra bus entered Bihar, greeted by a large crowd eagerly awaiting Shri Gandhi and the procession. People expressed their solidarity with Shri Gandhi and the Congress Party’s fight against injustice. Shri Gandhi led a padyatra from the National Highway Kishanganj to Shaeed Ashfaq Ulla Khan Stadium in Kishanganj. At the stadium, the President of The West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee handed over the National Flag to Shri Akhilesh Prasad Singh, the President of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, symbolising the official entry of ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ into Bihar. Addressing the massive gathering in the stadium, Shri Gandhi stated, ‘Without social and economic justice, this country cannot progress. These are not just empty words. The development they discuss cannot be achieved without social and economic justice.’ He also appealed to the people of Bihar to once again become pioneers in the social revolution and fulfil their responsibility towards the nation. After this address to the people, the Nyay Yatra headed towards Budhimaari for the afternoon break. Following lunch, the Nyay Yatra commenced from the Tupamari village in Kishanganj and proceeded towards its second phase, which was towards Araria. During this time, representatives of the All-India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) had a meeting with Shri Gandhi. On the way, Shri Gandhi also met with some local legislators and gathered information about the status of their constituencies. The procession then moved towards P.D. Yadav Inter College, where arrangements were made for the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ convoy to stay for the night.

Day 17: January 30, 2024: Farmers are Being Looted

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ started from Araria. The Yatra today began by paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. On this day, 76 years ago, on January 30, 1948, Bapu was assassinated by Nathuram Godse in Birla Bhavan. This day is observed as Martyrs’ Day. Shri Gandhi hoisted the flag and paid homage to Bapu. From Araria, the Nyay Yatra entered the border of Purnia, where, once again, people warmly welcomed Shri Gandhi. After walking a short distance, Shri Gandhi saw a Navodaya Vidyalaya School on the way. Once again, the caravan stopped, and Shri Rahul Gandhi went to the school to meet the Principal, teachers, and students. Upon reaching Purnia, Shri Gandhi held a meeting with the farmers of Seemanchal in a traditional setting. In the meeting, the farmers informed Shri Gandhi about the false promises made by the Modi government in the last ten years. Shri Gandhi said, ‘Farmers are being pressurised from all sides. Your land is being taken away and is being gifted to big industrialists like Adani…. If the farmers’ debt is not to be waived off, then the debt of billionaires should not be waived off either. Why is this injustice happening?’ After lunch, a massive rally of the Congress party was organised in Purnia’s Rangbhoomi Maidan. Lakhs of people gathered to listen to the President of the Indian National Congress, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, and Shri Rahul Gandhi. Addressing a largely attended public rally on the seventeenth day of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, Shri Rahul Gandhi said, the time has come to get the caste X-Ray of India done. In an apparent reference to desertion from ‘INDIA’ by Nitish Kumar, Shri Gandhi said, ‘It is the responsibility of the alliance to provide social justice, we don’t need Nitish Ji here in any way’. Making a strong point for caste census in the country to provide social justice to people, Shri Gandhi said, he has often referred to the feeble representation of the OBC officers in the government of India. He said that of the 90 Secretaries running the government, only 3 are from the OBC community. On economic justice, Shri Gandhi said, he wanted the farmers, the workers, the labourers, and everyone should get their rightful due. After Shri Gandhi’s address, the Nyay Yatra convoy set off for Katihar. The journey halted in Kheriya, Katihar, for the night’s rest.

Day 18: January 31, 2024: Jay Jawan-Yuva Nyay

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ progressed from Katihar to Malda, West Bengal. Before commencing today’s journey, the bus for the Nyay Yatra halted at a training ground where youth preparing for recruitment in the Agniveer were practising. Shri Gandhi spoke to 10-12 aspirants. The youth informed Shri Gandhi about the injustices in the Agnipath Scheme. After talking to the youth and understanding their grievances, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ headed towards the Bengal border. The roadshow, starting from Shaheed Chowk in Katihar, continued for about 2 kilometers, reaching DS College. Stopping near DS College, Shri Gandhi addressed the crowd and criticised the Central government again. He said, ‘Love is essential for any nation to move forward. BJP and RSS supporters are spreading hatred in the country. In the afternoon, the yatra reached the Bihar-West Bengal border. In a programme organized in Malda, the President of the Bihar Pradesh Congress handed over the national flag to the West Bengal Pradesh Congress President. The highlight of today’s Yatra was a 45-kilometer-long roadshow by Shri Rahul Gandhi in the heavily populated Malda district. The response was unbelievable. After many hours, Yatra reached English Bazaar, an old colonial-era town at the heart of this historic district, and the roadshow ended in a public address. The Nyay Yatra convoy stopped in Debipur. Congress General Secretary Shri Jairam Ramesh and Youth Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar addressed the press during the lunch break. On this occasion, the Congress Party launched the ‘Jay Jawan’ campaign and released its poster. This campaign will raise the voices of youth affected by the Agnipath Scheme. The poster contains a ‘QR code’ that anyone can scan to join this campaign. There is also a website for this campaign – www.jayjawan.in. Apart from this, youth can also share their problems by giving a missed call. The number for missed calls is 9999812024. Youth are appealed to join this campaign if they are related to employment, recruitment, and the Agnipath Scheme. After the lunch break, the yatra set off for the rest of the journey. In the evening, the procession reached the English Bazar. Here, Shri Gandhi addressed the massive crowd. After greeting the thousands of people present, the yatra headed towards its campsite for the night.
