Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted on Budget-2025:
A proverb fits this budget perfectly. ‘Nau Sau Choohe kha kar, billi haj ko chali’ (show of piety from a habitual sinner) In the last 10 years, Modi government has collected income tax worth Rs. 54.18 lakh crore from middle class, and now they are giving an exemption of up to Rs. 12 lakhs, according to which the Finance Minister herself is saying that there will be a saving of Rs. 80,000 in a year. That is, only Rs. 6,666 every month! The whole country is struggling with the problem of inflation and unemployment, but the Modi government is hell bent on garnering false praises. In this “announcement-veer” budget, the ‘Make in India’ has been made a ‘National Manufacturing Mission’ to hide its shortcomings. All the other announcements are almost like this.
There is nothing for the youth. Modi ji had promised yesterday that he will take a big step for women empowerment in this budget, but nothing like that came out in the budget. There is no roadmap to double the income of farmers. No concession was given in GST rate on agricultural produce. There is no plan for health, education and scholarship for Dalit, tribal, backward class, poor and minority children. There is no reformative step on how to increase the private income. The failures have been hidden by saying a few superficial things on the issue of export and tariff. Nothing has been done to increase the income of the poor. No step has been taken on the continuously falling consumption. Despite skyrocketing inflation, the budget of the MGNREGA is the same. Nothing has been done to increase the income of laborers. There is no mention of any improvement in the functioning in the multiple rates of the GST. To reduce unemployment, there is no talk of increasing jobs. All the schemes of Startup India, Standup India, Skill India proved to be mere announcements.
Overall, this #Budget2025 is an attempt by the Modi government to mislead the people.
