Madhya Pradesh will develop only under Congress rule and not under BJP regime: Congress President

Sagar (MP): Addressing a rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar on August 22, 2023, Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said that Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan cannot do without abusing Congress. “They always ask Congress to account for its contribution.”

He said that Congress did something that is why Modi is the Prime Minister. “We have given the Constitution and saved it and Democracy,” said Shri Kharge. Shri Mallikarjun Kharge promised a university named after Saint Ravidas, a 16th century mystic poet of the bhakti movement who opposed the caste system. He said, “This is not for votes. What Congress does, comes from the heart and for the benefit of the people.” he said.

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge referred to Union home minister Amit Shah’s statement asking Congress to give a “report card” of its over 50-year rule. Shri Kharge said, “Modi ruled Gujarat for over 13 years and India for about 10 years. What did they do? Children are malnourished in Gujarat.”

He referred to the growing price rise and said tomato was sold at 15 per kg in 2014 when the BJP came to power at the Centre. “Now it is72. LPG cylinder rate increased by 166%. Pulses became costlier by 129%.”

He said that the literacy rate before independence was 18.3%; it increased to 74% in 2013-14. “Infant mortality also decreased. Birth and death rates also decreased.” He added that female literacy grew to 65%.

He argued that the Congress Party has transformed the lives of people. “From Jawaharlal Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi, what Congress has done is known to the world. Whereas your government has been misleading people.” He said.

MP will develop only under Congress rule and not under BJP regime, he said. Shri Kharge reiterated the guarantees announced by AICC General Secretary Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and said: “Farm loans will be waived. LPG cylinders will be priced at Rs. 500, women will get Rs. 1,500 grant per month. Women should be happy. This will be increased in future. Electricity will be free till 100 units and the old pension scheme will be restored for government employees.”

‘Sagar’ is in Bundelkhand region, which has 26 assembly constituencies, 22% Dalit voters and 10 of the 35 SC-reserved seats.

Telangana in the clutches of KCR and it’s time to liberate it: Kharge Ji In Telangana, Congress promises SC/ST reservation in private sector, Rs. 12L aid

Hyderabad: With the Assembly elections just a few months away, the Congress released the SC/ST Declaration in the presence of Congress President Shri Mallikarjuna Kharge at the Poru Garjana public meeting held in Chevella on August 26, 2023.

The ‘SC/ST Declaration’ lists 12 promises, including enhancement of statutory reservations for SCs from 15% to 18%, and for STs from 10% to 12%. It also aims to extend it to the private sector (education and employment).

It further outlines an array of promises including implementing SC sub-categorisation, providing house plots and Rs. 6 lakhs for house construction to landless SC/STs, ensuring heritable, alienable, and transferable rights for assigned and Podu lands, and restoring lands taken away by the incumbent government.

The Congress also pledged to establish three new SC corporations for Madiga, Mala and other sub-castes, allocating Rs. 750 crores to each in the State budget every year, and three ST corporations, allocating Rs. 500 crore each year. It also promised to establish five Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) in Nalgonda, Mahabubabad, Khammam, Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar. The Congress also envisions the establishment of nine super-speciality hospitals in ITDA headquarters, offering specialised healthcare access to tribal communities. The Party also revealed its plans to introduce the ‘Vidya Jyothulu Pathakam’ for SC/ST students, under which it would provide Rs. 10,000 upon passing the 10th standard, Rs. 15,000 upon completing Intermediate, Rs. 25,000 after graduation, Rs. 1 lakh upon post-graduation and Rs. 5 lakhs for those who have completed MPhil or PhD.

Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge lashed out at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Alleging that there was a secret understanding between the BJP and the BRS, Shri Kharge said: “KCR didn’t come for even one meeting. He has never come forward to join the secular parties and INDIA, to dethrone PM Modi and the BJP. Here (in Hyderabad), you claim you are a secular party, but you make dark deals there (New Delhi).”

“Who constructed the Irrigation projects, established the IITs, IIMs, AIIMs, Defence Institutes and Public Sector Undertakings that pushed India into a new league?” he asked and asked parties to introspect who established the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

‘There is nothing in Red Diary’, says Shri Kharge in Rajasthan

Bhilwara: Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said on September 6, 2023, that there was nothing in the Red Diary, and the Gehlot-led government always worked in the interest of the common man. Shri Kharge also claimed that there is no red, yellow or any other diary, it’s just a bogus attempt to try and scare the Congress.

“We say ‘Bharat Jodo’, they say ‘Bharat Todo’,” he said, adding, “They are getting nervous over I.N.D.I.A. (alliance).”Now they are saying ‘Bharat’ instead of ‘India’. It is written in the Constitution itself – India that is ‘Bharat’. We are already talking about ‘Uniting India.’

“The Constitution states - India means ‘Bharat’. Do you have any objection to these two words?” Kharge Ji said addressing a farmers’ rally in Bhilwara in poll-bound Rajasthan. Targeting Prime Minister Modi, Congress President said, “He used to say that ‘I will double the income of farmers’ but he looted people (through high prices of) diesel, petrol, LPG, everything. He has harassed and ruined the poor. He issued directions and the finance department kept on looting people.”

The Congress leader said that Modi did not say anything on the Manipur situation in Parliament, and when he did speak on the issue to the media, he named Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh as well. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said, “Kharge Saheb has played a big role in the grand alliance of the opposition. He has been at the forefront of uniting the opposition parties by forging an alliance in the name of I.N.D.I.A. Why is Modi facing difficulties with the opposition alliance? “

Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said that there is talk of ‘One Nation, One Election’, but the opposition was not taken into confidence.

Shri Kharge says, “Congress engaged in uniting ‘Bharat’, but BJP trying to break it, attacks Centre over ED raids in Chhattisgarh”

Rajnandgaon: Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge on September 8, 2023, asked why the BJP has triggered the India-Bharat row?

If the BJP hates the word ‘India’, then why has it come up with schemes like ‘Startup India’, ‘Digital India’, ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’, asked Kharge Ji. He was speaking at ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’, an event organised here in poll-bound Chhattisgarh by the Congress government, at Thekwa village of Rajnandgaon district. “We have formed an alliance I.N.D.I.A. for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and now BJP is saying that the country’s name ‘India’ should be changed to ‘Bharat’. There is both ‘India’ and ‘Bharat’ in the Constitution itself. Then why are they triggering a dispute over it?” Kharge Ji said.

He said that the BJP claims that the Congress is against calling India ‘Bharat’. “We love ‘Bharat’. Rahul ji took out a foot march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and named the yatra ‘Bharat Jodo’. We are engaged in uniting ‘Bharat’ and you (BJP) are engaged in breaking it,” he said.

Hitting out at the PM, Kharge Ji said, “Neither photographs of his ministers nor Mahatma Gandhi or Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru feature on these posters. Does everything belong to him? He slammed the Centre for renaming the Nehru Memorial Museum as the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library Society.”

Kharge Ji said that his Party is always concerned about the welfare of the poor and not names. “We enacted the Food Security Act and Right to Education Act but not named them (after our leaders). We named MNREGA (rural job guarantee scheme) but it was after the name of the ‘Father of the Nation’ (Mahatma Gandhi),” he said.

“Why did you not do the work which the Congress government has done in 5 years in Chhattisgarh? It is because you (PM) don’t care for the poor rather you care for the rich like Ambani and Adani.” Kharge Ji also targeted the Centre over the recent ED raids in different cases across Chhattisgarh.

However, the people of Chhattisgarh won’t be scared and they will put up a fight, he added.

Appealing to the people to remain “cautious” about the BJP, Kharge Ji said that now-a-days even those who write and speak against the Centre are being framed. Either they are given notices or put in jail, he claimed.
