Raipur: Former Congress President of the Indian National Congress, Shri Rahul Gandhi, recently undertook a train journey from Bilaspur to Raipur on October 3, 2023, a move that was described as a continuation of his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. This journey not only showcased the diversity of India but also provided an opportunity for Shri Rahul Gandhi to interact with a diverse range of people from various walks of life.

On-board Interactions: Showcasing ‘Real India’

Among those travelling with Shri Rahul Gandhi was Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. In a video of his train journey, which captured Shri Rahul Gandhi’s interactions with passengers, including table tennis players, artists, and the youth of Chhattisgarh. The aim was to showcase the ‘real India’ and the aspirations of its people. ‘Railways is the lifeline of India in which about 1 crore people travel every day. A glimpse of real India is seen in the train, people of different religions, languages, and classes get attached with each other while starting as strangers’, he was quoted as saying.

Engaging with Diverse Groups

During the two-hour journey, Shri Rahul Gandhi spoke with a promising girl from the Dalit community, who shared her artwork with him. He also interacted with young women who play table tennis, asking them about various aspects of the sport. In addition, he engaged in conversations with hockey and kabbaddi players. When passengers made specific requests, he referred them to Chief Minister Baghel. These interactions are part of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing efforts to unite the country through the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
