New Delhi: Former Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi on August 1, 2023, at around 4 AM, visited the India’s biggest Azadpur Mandi in the national capital and met some vegetable and fruit vendors there. Former Congress President Shri Rahul walked through the crowded market, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries with people in the Mandi.

This visit comes amid rising vegetable prices. Specifically, vegetables, especially tomatoes have been in the news for their soaring prices. The rise in tomato prices has been reported across the country and is not just limited to a particular region or geography. In key cities, it rose to as high as Rs. 200 per kg.

Later, Shri Rahul Gandhi shared the video of his surprise visit on Instagram and said, “Today, visited one of the India’s largest vegetable market Azadpur Mandi and met the traders and sellers there. I met everyone and asked about their work, their problems, rising prices and held discussions with them and learnt about their future aspirations.”
