Hyderabad: Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge on April 14, 2023, said that the Party will not be in alliance with anyone in the state but contest the polls alone and win. He asked the Congress cadre to be united.

Addressing a massive public meeting in Mancherial, he told the Party workers: “Many people from BRS (Bhartiya Rashtra Samiti) just to appease Dalits and poor say many things, but don’t deliver anything. Congress is the only Party which fought for the people. We are winning the elections in the state without any alliance.”

Taking a dig at CM Shri K Chandrasekhar Rao for inaugurating the tallest statue of Dr. Ambedkar, he said, “Some inaugurate 10-feet statue, some even bigger. But the difference made in the lives of Dalits is more important. During united Andhra Pradesh, Congress began sub-plan funds for social welfare. What about the current government?” He came down on BRS and BJP for privatising Singareni Collieries.

“Modi has this mission of privatising everything and the state government is doing nothing. We will stop this,” he said, adding, “It is like being in love with some (poor) and getting married to rich (selling PSUs)”.

Stating that Modi and Shah are Prime Minister and Home Minister because of the good work by Congress in the past, he said: “They ask us what have we done in the past, but it is because of our good work that they are able to rule.” Slamming the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi Ji as MP, Shri Kharge said, “When a BJP MP was given punishment of paying ` 5 lakh compensation in the past, he was given enough time. But for Rahul Ji, everything happens in hurry including asking him to vacate his official residence, how fair is this?” At the meeting, TPCC President Shri A Revanth Reddy shared the dais with MP Shri Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Hyderabad: While addressing a huge gathering, at ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha’ in Naspur, Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Dr. BR Ambedkar drafted the Constitution and gave direction to the government,” he added. Everyone, whether Dalits or rich, was given the ‘Right to Vote’. He lamented the fact that many people had forgotten about Ambedkar. Everyone is erecting various-sized idols, but no one is talking about what is being done to help the poor.”

He even argued that without Ambedkar’s involvement in the democratic process, SCs and women would have lost the ‘Right to Vote’.

“We implemented the sub-plan for everyone, from tribals to Dalits,” he added. Congress has allocated funds based on population. Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel led the independence movement in India. Modi would not be Prime Minister if we had accomplished nothing in the last 70 years”, said the Congress President.

Poor man like me could have successful, long political career because of Congress

Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said he would not have been a lawmaker had late PM Indira Gandhi and senior Party leader Smt. Sonia Gandhi not encouraged a ‘Poor man’ like him. Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said that it was because of his Party that a person like him with a humble background could have a long political career and become an MLA and MP for multiple terms.

He said that Smt. Sonia Gandhi “gave him” an opportunity to work as the President of the Congress, which is a huge responsibility. The Congress President also accused the Narendra Modi-led government of weakening the public sector and not creating crores of jobs as promised. He also targeted the BRS government in Telangana, accusing it of not fulfilling its promises, including providing three acres of land to Dalit families. Hailing the contributions of Dr. BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, KhargeJi said that it was because of the architect of the Constitution that Dalits and women got voting rights. He went on to say that selling government industries did not create jobs. Prime Minister Modi promises two crore employment every year. Where have the eighteen crore jobs gone in the last eight years? Thirty lakh vacancies exist in the country. Modi is a dictator in the country; Chief Minister KCR is a dictator in the state, he said. He claimed, Shri Rahul Gandhi was unfairly disqualified. A BJP MP was convicted in a murder case, however he was not disqualified. The country has no legal equality. We are not terrified of being disqualified. We are fighting, and we will continue to fight. Mallikarjun Kharge Ji claimed that the Congress would take power in Telangana.

“The Congress Party will get glory under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge Ji. After he became President, we won in Himachal Pradesh. We are going to win in Karnataka tomorrow. The Congress Party will come to power in the Telangana elections in November and December.
