First Instalment into the Accounts of 3.55 lakh Landless Families Raipur: Amidst the country’s dilapidated economy and the ever-increasing number of poor due to the disastrous policies of the Modi government at the Centre, when economists around the world had been advising that there is a need to put money directly into the pockets of the poor, a Congress government of the poor has come up with another scheme for their welfare. In Chhattisgarh, the Congress government led by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has taken a step forward by treading the path of justice. In their continuing efforts, the ambitious ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Labourers Nyay Yojana’ has been started to help the landless laborers of the state. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year per family will be given to the rural landless agricultural labourers’ families.
In a massive programme in Raipur on February 03, Shri Rahul Gandhi transferred the amount directly to the eligible 3 lakh 55 thousand landless agricultural laborers through DBT in their bank accounts. In this scheme, families belonging to the small-scale system like shepherd, carpenter, blacksmith, cobbler, barber, washerman and priest will be eligible. While launching the scheme, Shri Rahul Gandhi mentioned the challenges before the country and said that this country is like a bouquet of people belonging to different ideologies, cultures, languages and lifestyles, where dwells the feeling of love, the feeling of brotherhood. He said that patriotism means strengthening the country and helping the poor. We had said that we would have to help the poor laborers of Chhattisgarh. We are also going to complete this work through ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Labourers Nyay Yojana’.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said on the occasion of the launch of ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Labourers Nyay Yojana’ that the concern expressed by Shri Rahul Gandhi about the condition of landless laborers a year ago has been dispelled today. Shri Rahul Gandhi always says that money should go into the pockets of the public. In the last three years, we have transferred Rs. 91 thousand crores into the pockets of the farmers, laborers, collectors and other sections of the people of Chhattisgarh. In order to bring the country’s economy back on track during the Corona epidemic, Shri Gandhi, after having elaborate discussions with economists, had suggested that the economy could be strengthened by Direct Cash Transfer. Chhattisgarh operated according to the path shown by him, due to which the economy of Chhattisgarh remained strong and the markets here were bright even during the recession.
Continuous Justice ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rural landless Agricultural Labourers Nyay Yojana’ is another important scheme of the state, through which rural landless laborers will get direct financial help. Prior to this, ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana’ and ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’ have been implemented, which are being discussed worldwide. Through ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana’, huge amount is being given to the farmers in the form of input subsidy. Through ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’, farmers of the state are being given direct benefit by purchasing cow dung at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg from them.
