
Dharamshala: Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, has launched a new initiative to disseminate the policies of the country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, to the state’s students and youth. The Education Board has commissioned a booklet containing the ideas of Nehru, the former Prime Minister, and its distribution to school students and youth has begun. To this end, a program was organized at the Education Board campus in Dharamshala. School Education Board Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma unveiled the booklet. Promising students from across the state were also invited to the board campus and honored. Along with this, eminent personalities working in the field of education were also honored.
The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board organized the State-Level Children’s Day Celebration 2025 on this occasion. Speeches, essay and art competitions, and cultural programs on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s policies, especially on education, youth, and employment, were held in the conference hall on the Board’s campus. The book ‘The Visionary’ was unveiled at the event, commemorating the birth anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The book contains his biography, along with messages from family members associated with him and those influenced by his policies.
On this occasion, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi said in her message, “Our country was most fortunate that a leader as visionary, humane, brilliant, courageous and dedicated as Panditji laid the foundation of modern, independent India. He showed us the way ahead to build a nation that would combine a scientific temper with a respect for our civilizational values and traditions, that was committed to social justice and equality for every citizen of India; that promoted religious tolerance and harmony and took pride in India’s diversity and cultural pluralism.”
