Will give 1 lakh jobs, restore old pension scheme: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Kangra: Congress leader Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reiterated that her Party will provide 1 lakh jobs, restore the Old Pension Scheme and provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 to every woman in Himachal Pradesh if it is voted to power in the November 12 Assembly polls.

Citing the work done by the Congress in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, the only two states where the Party is in power on its own, Priyanka Ji said that her Party will fulfil its promises in Himachal as well.

“The Congress will create 1 lakh jobs… Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is sitting here. He has provided 5 lakh jobs in three years. He has also implemented the Old Pension Scheme. The Congress government in Rajasthan has provided 1.30 lakh jobs,” she said, adding Chhattisgarh now has the lowest unemployment rate.

She also targeted the state government, saying the state has “drowned” in debt under the BJP dispensation and 63,000 government posts are lying vacant.

Congress General Secretary Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on November 4, 2022 said that if Congress forms a government in the Centre, the Party would scrap the Agnipath policy of recruitment in defence forces.

“Himachal Pradesh has given numerous martyrs to our country, and even today the youth from the State is protecting our borders... but the BJP snatched their life security by bringing Agnipath...If the Congress government is formed at the Centre, the Agnipath scheme will be scrapped,” she said.

Addressing a rally here, Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said the Congress will also fight the drug menace, which is ruining the future of the youth and build English-medium schools in every Assembly constituency.

“The public is asking for freedom from inflation and you say, take GST and more tax. Even the GST on cartons used for packing apples has been increased. This is the answer you get,” she said. Addressing a rally at NagrotaBagwan in favour of Party candidate Raghubir Singh Bali, the Congress leader said that she understands the burden shouldered by women, who work at home and outside. “This is why the Congress wants to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 to every woman under ‘Har Ghar Lakshmi Yojna’,” she said.

Hitting out at the BJP, Ms. Vadra said that during the BJP regime several irregularities and scams surrounding police recruitment, teacher recruitment and purchase of PPE kits had come to the fore, exposing the corruption deeds of the BJP government.

Polling in Himachal Pradesh will be held on November 12 and the counting of votes will be taken up on December 8.

Indira Gandhi’s trust in people of Himachal Pradesh built the state

Mandi (Himachal Pradesh): Congress leader Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on October 31, 2022, said that the trust between Indira Gandhi and the people of Himachal Pradesh has built the state. She was addressing a “Parivartan Pratigya” rally in Mandi in the state ahead of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Polls.

She said that there were speculations but Smt. Indira Gandhi believed in people who helped in building the state.

The Congress leader while addressing people in “Parivartan Pratigya” rally in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi said that many politicians come asking to change the tradition of Himachal. She said that the Himachal’s tradition is “the dedication towards the nation.”

She further said that today’s politics is different with that of Smt. Indira Gandhi’s era. Smt. Vadra said, “You all know that there is just money in politics” which was not the same when Indira Gandhi Ji was in power.

Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra pointed out that the Congress built IIT, schools, sewerage system and more to take Himachal on top. But, she asked, could you see new IITs, Hospitals or schools anywhere around in the past 5 years?

Smt. Priyanka takes a dig at BJP’s double-engine poll pitch

Shimla: In a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress General Secretary Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on November 7, 2022, said that while BJP is seeking votes in the “double-engine” government, its leader has been calling Himachal and its people “Bimar” (ailing).

Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said so while addressing an election rally at Kangar in Haroli assembly segment, the home turf of the leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri. Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was referring to PM Modi, who in a rally in Sundernagar in Mandi, had appealed to people to once again elect the BJP government stating that like keeping on changing medicine doesn’t cure a disease, Himachal has done its own harm by changing governments.

“Are you ailing? Is Himachal Pradesh ailing? See how they look at you. They are telling you to continue taking the same pill. Understand it, you are being misled,” she said.

Smt. Gandhi said, today, Himachal is facing a ¹ 70,000 crore loan burden, employees haven’t received Diwali bonus, HRTC employees haven’t got this month’s salary, and they are telling you to keep taking the same pill.

Show country you have taken right decision: Priyanka to HP voters

Sirmur: All-India Congress Committee’s General Secretary Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra appealed to the people of Himachal to exercise their discretion and vote in the elections to show the people of the country that they have taken the right decision.

While addressing a public rally at Sataun in Sirmaur on the last day of campaigning on November 10, 2022, she urged the people of the state not to waste another five years and to vote judiciously for the Party that works for them.

“Politics of today has changed a lot. During the freedom struggle when Mahatma Gandhi spoke about truth, he gave a spiritual base to the country’s politics. The freedom struggle was fought along the lines of truth and we should be proud that no other country has such a foundation,” said Smt. Priyanka Gandhi.

What we see today is politics rigged with money and lies, the politicians can say anything. There is no accountability, no responsibility, she said, adding that the truth and facts are totally different. “Hence, I urge you all to vote based on your experience and circumstances as you can very well understand what has been done for you. Big leaders of the BJP came to Himachal and said Congress cannot give a stable government. Who has given you a stable government since independence and who has spread instability?” she questioned.

Making a veiled attack, she cautioned the people to be wary of those who topple the governments elected by the people.

“What is the truth, all is in front of you. The people of the state are an aware lot, so do not let this flame of awareness die. It is your biggest responsibility to keep it alive,” she said.
