Shri Rahul Gandhi said- Namaskar! Good Morning! Pegasus is classified as a weapon. It is called a snooping software. Pegasus is classified by the Israeli state as a weapon and that weapon is supposed to be used against terrorists, against criminals. The Prime Minister and the Home-Minister have used this weapon against the Indian state, against our institutions and against the democracy of India. They have used it politically. They have used it in Karnataka. They have used it to scuttle probes. It was used to stop the investigation of Rafale. They have used it against the Supreme Court- they have used it against all the institutions of this country. So, the only word for this is ‘Treason’. There is no other word for this. This should be investigated. The Home-Minister should resign and Judicial Inquiry- Supreme Court Inquiry should be started on Narendra Modi ji, because no one else can authorize the use of this Pegasus apart from the Prime Minister or the Home-Minister.

My phone was tapped but this is not a matter of my privacy. This is not a matter of Rahul Gandhi’s privacy. I am a leader of the opposition. I raise the voice of the people. So, this is an attack on them. This is an attack on the voice of the people. On a question that the big news came out today on Pegasus, it includes leading businessman’s name that was in the offset list. The inquiry is going on in France, but our government is mum, how do you see this, Shri Rahul Gandhi said- I have said very clearly that there has been gross theft in Rafale. None of you people supported me. This is the truth, for whatever reason, none of you people supported me, but the truth has a way of coming out. There is an enquiry in France,and you will see, the Prime Minister himself is responsible for corruption in Rafale, you will see it. You can’t buy everybody. You might think you can buy everybody; the Prime Minister might think he can suppress everybody- he might buy everybody; he can’t! And the reason all those people, you see, even in your question, you are asking very interesting question, why are you not asking about the CBI director’s phone being tapped? Why are you asking me about Anil Ambani?

The real question is, why on the last minute when the CBI director was about to file an FIR, why was his phone tapped and why was he blackmailed? That’s the real question. Who did it - that’s a question! The issue is not whether Anil Ambani’s phone was tapped. The issue is that the entire Indian state is under attack. The amazing thing is, you don’t know, you don’t seem to understand that you are being attacked. This is not an attack on Rahul Gandhi, this is not an attack on individual, this is an attack on Indian states. Regarding the use of Pegasus, the government says that the government is not aware of its use, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that tell me one thing if the govt. has got nothing to do with it. If the Indian government did not do this, some other government would have done it. The government of Japan would have done it, the government of Israel would have done it, the government of Russia would have done it, the government of Uganda would have done it, because Pegasus can only be sold to a government. Then, this should be inquired into. So, why is the Prime Minister not affirming that people’s numbers have been tapped in Pegasus and he will get the inquiry done? Why is the Prime Minister saying that he did not do it? The important question is whether he has bought it or not, simply answer that.

On another question that the government is saying that this information is classified, so we cannot tell whether we have used Pegasus or not, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that the case of Rafale was classified, the case of farmers is classified. Everything is classified in India now-a-days!

When asked about the tapping of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s phone whether he was also a potential target, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that No, no, it is not a potential target, my phone is tapped. It is clearly tapped, so it is not a potential target- On another question whether you are scared while using the phone, Shri Rahul Gandhi said no, see, I am an open book. It makes no difference to me. It is as simple as anything that you want to understand Indian politics. If you are corrupt, if you are a thief, you will be afraid, you will be afraid of Modi ji. If you are not corrupt, if you are not a thief, Modi ji will not scare you at all, you will be amused instead. It’s a simple thing.

On another question that on what basis are you making allegations on Prime Minister, Shri Rahul Gandhi said- Are you allowed to buy Pegasus? Can I buy Pegasus? Pegasus has to be authorized by the nation state. The file has to be signed at a minimum by the Home-Minister, probably by the Prime Minister. Pegasus cannot be sold to the military of a country; it is sold to the government of the country, please read the contract. It is sold government-to-government. Much like Mr. Modi says- the Rafale deal was a government-to-government deal, but, then Mr. Anil Ambani was sitting in the meeting. On another question, what would you say about the farmers’ agitation, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that our standon this matter is crystal clear. This law should be withdrawn.

On another question that the government is saying that it is ready for negotiations, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that it is not a matter of talks, it is a matter of withdrawal of laws.

On again being asked about his phone being tapped, Shri Rahul Gandhi said- It is not only this phone; every single phone of mine is tapped. And let me tell you another thing, I get phone calls from IB people who tapped my phone. Okay! They call me up and say- please, beware that I am tapping your phone. By the way, my security people tell me that they have to debrief what I say, they have to report to their seniors everything I say. So, I am under no pretentions that I am not tapped. When asked again whether this happens often, or happens occasionally, with you, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that it has happened to me 3-4 times. My friends are called, they are asked to tell me that my phone is being tapped. On another question whether you think this is intimidation that you are even told about it, Shri Rahul Gandhi said that I am not intimidated. These things don’t intimidate me.
