Delhi Nyay Yatra

New Delhi: All-India Congress Committee treasurer and MP Shri Ajay Maken, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, alongwith Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Devender Yadav, former DPCC Presidents Shri Subhash Chopra and Ch. Anil Kumar, flagged off the month-long ‘Delhi Nyay Yatra’ from Rajghat on November 8, 2024, witnessed by thousands of Congress workers, volunteers, senior leaders and public. The month-long yatra will cover a distance of 20-25 kms daily and will cover a distance of about 360 kms in all 70 assembly constituencies to ensure the participation of youth, women, labourers , farmers and more than 2.5 crore Delhiites in the development of Delhi. The Yatra, to be held in four phases, will interact with the public and tell them about the unprecedented development works done by the Congress Government, and will expose the misrule and corruption of the Kejriwal Government for the past 10 years.

AICC Treasurer, Former DPCC President and MP Shri Ajay Maken said that Kejriwal, who came to limelight by sporting a two-rupee pen, wearing hawai chappals, professing honesty and integrity, promising the implementation of the Lokpal Bill, buried his ideology under the carpet after tasting the fruits of power, and ended up living in a Rs. 75 crores worth Sheesh Mahal, committed the liquor scam which sent him to jail. He said that the severe air pollution was creating havoc with the health of the people, which was the consequence of totally dilapidated public transport system, as the Kejriwal Government could not bolster the DTC fleet, nor could create a new bus depot, as all the infrastructure in the Capital was built by the Congress Government. He said that three Civil Services students died during the monsoon flooding, at a constituency represented by an AAP MLA, as the entire city got water-logged with overflowing sewer waters, as the Kejriwal Government had not done the mandatory cleaning of drains before the rains.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that truth was the core of the Congress ideology, and the Nyay Yatra will assure people of getting them justice in all spheres. Quoting the example of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhu said that the Congress Government there delivered on all its election promises to prove that Congress Party does not indulge in empty rhetoric. DPCC President Shri Devender Yadav said that the purpose of the Yatra was to provide justice to the people, tell the public about the lies and corruption of the Kejriwal Government, which put the residents of Delhi in complete misery in 10 years of misrule by destroying the national Capital in every respect. He said that the Congress Government, during its 15-year rule, had turned Delhi into a world class city, but the Kejriwal Government committed gross injustice to women, youth, students, old people, farmers, traders and every section of residents, as Kejriwal’s focus as Chief Minister was to take corruption to unprecedented high levels at the expense of the people, and the liquor scam finally landed him, his deputy Manish Sisodia, Minister Satyender Jain and MP Sanjay Singh in jail, besides nearly 30 AAP MLAs facing various criminal cases. He said that Congress workers will knock at the doors of the residents of every Assembly constituency and enlighten them about how Congress was determined to bring back the stalled development and prosperity to the people without putting them under a smokescreen of lies and falsehood. He said that Kejriwal did nothing to address the air and water pollution, rising crimes against women, the totally disturbed law and order situation, unemployment, price rise, broken roads etc. without even a semblance of governance in place to solve such problems.
