Mammoth Gathering in the ‘Mehangai Hatao Maharally’

In order to give voice to the suffering of the people of the country, who are facing the brunt of inflation due to the wrong economic policies of the Modi government, the Congress organized ‘Mahangai Hatao Rally’ in Jaipur on December 12, 2021. The way Shri Rahul Gandhi raised his voice in this rally against the deaf and dumb central government, a positive message has been sent among the common people across the country.

Participating in the rally, lakhs of common citizens have made it clear that with the success of the rally, the countdown of the Modi government has started. The Modi government at the Centre was aware that the issue on which the Congress party is all geared-up to provide justice to the people, public participation will be huge. Therefore, permission to organize this rally in Delhi was denied by the Centre. Rajasthan got the opportunity to organize a rally on the instructions of the All-India Congress Committee, for which the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot had demanded to organize the rally in Jaipur. The Congressmen of the entire state cooperated with full dedication for the successful organization of this rally, under the efficient guidance of General Secretary-in-charge Shri Ajay Maken.

Addressing the rally, exposing the divisive, casteist, communal thinking of BJP, explaining who a true Hindu is and how Hindutvavadi people are destroying the culture, tradition and fabric of social unity of the country, Shri Rahul Gandhi proclaimed that ‘I am a Hindu, but not a Hindutvavadi.’

Similarly, All-India Congress Committee General Secretary Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked BJP’s anti-people policies and wrong economic policies. Senior Congress leaders Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Shri Bhupinder Hooda, Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Kamal Nath, Kumari Selja, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Shri Madhusudan Mistry, Shri Sachin Pilot, Shri B.V. Srinivas, Netta D’Souza, Imran Pratapgarhi, along with other leaders, addressed the rally.

Stating clearly the wrong policies of the BJP while addressing the rally, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Ashok Gehlot, blamed the Modi government for pushing the country towards direction lessness and appreciated the spirit of Shri Rahul Gandhi to fight for the rights of the people for the last seven years. State Congress President Shri Govind Singh Dotasra thanked the top leadership for organizing the ‘Mehangai Hatao Maharally’ in Jaipur and providing the opportunity to the State Congress.

Slogans, expressing public anger against the policies of the Modi government, were being raised by people outside the meeting venue in as many three times the number of people present inside the venue for the rally. It was ensured that 100 percent compliance of the Covid protocol was done at the meeting place for organizing the rally.

While on the one hand, the BJP is failing to mobilize people to support its programmes despite being in power, on the other hand the way people have participated in this Congress rally, it seems that the people are trying to ensure their participation in the anti-government struggle of the Congress.

Apart from Rajasthan, Congress workers and common people from all over the country participated in the rally, people from all sections and age groups participated in the rally and during the speech of Shri Rahul Gandhi, a great enthusiasm was seen in them.

The dignified presence of Smt. Sonia Gandhi added to the ‘Mehangai Hatao Maharally.’ The workers of Seva Dal, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress and NSUI participated enthusiastically in large numbers.

The Maharally was efficiently conducted and successfully organized under the guidance of Shri Ajay Maken. Organization General Secretary Shri K.C. Venugopal, General Secretary in-charge Shri Ajay Maken, Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot and State Congress President Shri Govind Singh Dotasra also played an important role in the overall organization of the rally.
