The Congress Party declared`decisive battle’ from the holy township of Katra Mata Vaishno Devi on 25 March, 2021. Addressing a large gathering of protestors, the JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir, declared a war to seek restoration of statehood with protection to land and jobs to youth of J&K and said that apart from other burning issues like unemployment, price hike and mis-governance, the Congress party would intensify its struggle for the restoration of our status, dignity and pride as well as rights of land and jobs to the locals.

The PCC chief said that the Modi regime will be remembered in history for ‘Tax Terrorism’.He said that Indira Gandhi had distinction of nationalization of banks, but Modi Government is putting the interest of depositors at stake. The Government is also hellbent to crush the farmers’ movement.

Mir was accompanied by PCC vice Presidents and former ministers Mula Ram and Raman Bhalla; General Secretaries Balwan Singh, Manmohan Singh; Co-treasurer Rajnish Sharma; DCC President Jammu Rural Hari Singh Chib; PYC President Uday Bhanu Chib; NSUI State President Sunny Parihar. The protest rally was organised by Sewa Dal State President Rajesh Sadhotra.
