Eradication of poverty and illiteracy was Rajiv Gandhi’s dream

Bhubaneswar, 20/08: Odisha Rajiv Gandhi Students Forum and Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle jointly organized the 80th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi and the state level Rajiv Gandhi talent honoring ceremony was held at Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar at 11:00 am under the Chairmanship of the state president Satyabrat Nayak. Former Vice Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University Prof. Kumarbar Das attended as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.

Youth is the power of potential, Rajiv Gandhi was determined to build India a society free from exploitation, corruption and discrimination. In his speech, Chief Guest Kumar Kumarbar Das said that Rajiv Gandhi’s efforts to make India the best and most developed nation in the field of information and biotechnology are always appreciable. Even though Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, he did not shy away from criticizing his own government, saying that it was very worrisome that the revenue was going from 1 rupee to 80 paise. 18 years of voting rights was his historic decision. Former Rajya Sabha MP Ramachandra Khuntia expressed his opinion that his contribution to believing in equality of all religions, giving opportunity to women in the backward royal system and paying special attention to Quebec is memorable. Among others, former Air Vice Marshal Maharaja Mahant of Indian Air Force, Chairman of Hitech Group Dr. Tirupati Panigrahi, Paper Observer of Daily Khabapar and Editor-in-Chief of Killing Chronicle joined by Pabitra Mohan Samantaray on the multifaceted genius of Rajiv Gandhi. State President Satyabrat Nayak said in his speech that today’s respected and talented students will be the best tribute to Rajiv Gandhi if they work with dedication in their working life in the coming days. Forum General Secretary Padmakar Guru introduced the guests and gave the welcome speech. The program includes NCC, Scout Guide Ranger, Rover, NSS. Top 110 students of the state in Volunteer, Youth Red Cross Volunteer, Art, Science, Odissi Dance, Music and Sports were felicitated by the Chief Guest and guests with the State Level Rajiv Gandhi Talent Award.
