India's students are facing an unprecedented crisis. Repeated paper leaks, examination irregularities, cancelled tests, re-examinations, and rising educational costs have shaken the faith of millions of young people in the country's education system.
Every paper leak, every canceled exam, every stalled recruitment - these aren't just failures of the system, but blows struck against the dreams of millions. Over the last decade, millions of students have seen their hard work, aspirations, and careers put at risk.
In response to this crisis, the Indian National Congress is organising a nationwide movement ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, led by Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi. This initiative seeks to unite students and young Indians from every corner of the country whose dreams and futures have been undermined by examination scams, administrative failures, and systemic shortcomings.
The first mega rally will be held in Kota, Rajasthan, on 17th June 2026, followed by Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, on 10th July 2026, Patna, Bihar, on 11th July 2026, and Delhi on 14th July 2026.
Let's delve into the pivotal aspects of this initiative:
Paper Leaks
Over the last ten years, nearly 89 paper leaks and 48 re-tests have been reported, affecting an estimated 6.5 crore candidates.
Examination Irregularities
From delayed results and cancelled examinations to administrative lapses and recruitment delays, students across the country have repeatedly faced uncertainty and disruption.
Rising Cost of Education
Rising tuition fees, coaching expenses, examination charges, and educational costs have made quality education increasingly inaccessible for many students.
Rising Student Distress
The mounting pressure created by examination uncertainty and repeated system failures has had severe consequences for students. 9 students died by suicide over NEET 2026 leak issue.
Demand for Accountability
A key demand emerging from this movement is accountability for repeated failures in the education sector and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
One Voice, Millions of Students
Chhatron Ki Goonj is more than a campaign, it is a nationwide call for justice for nyay. It is a platform for students to come together and demand an education system that rewards hard work, protects merit, ensures transparency, and restores public trust.
Students' futures cannot be compromised by repeated failures and broken promises. Every student deserves fair opportunities, credible examinations, and a system that values their aspirations.
The voice of India's students cannot be ignored.
