Congress launches Door-to-Door Campaign

Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge launches door-to-door distribution of Congress Guarantee Card to ensure that the promises will be fulfilled when Congress comes to power.

New Delhi: Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge launched the door-to-door distribution of Congress Guarantee Card of five main promises, with each promise consisting of five guarantees, made by Shri Rahul Gandhi during his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, in the presence of DPCC President Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely and large numbers of Congress workers at Kaithwada, near Shiv Mandir, 2nd Pushtha, UsmanpurChaupal, Ghonda Assembly in the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency on April 3, 2024.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said- “Congress’ five guarantees, with each guarantee having five assurances for Youth, Farmers, Women, Workers and Hissedari (Justice) will ensure that “HaathBadlegaHalaat” will be made a reality when Congress wins the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.” He said that the Congress’ promises will be actualized, and they will not be like BJP’s empty rhetoric, as in the past ten years, the Modi Government had only made promises without fulfilling any of them.

The Congress President said - 25 guarantees and five justices - we have put these five justices before the people and through you we want to tell the whole country that we do what we say. That’s why Rahul Gandhi ji walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and from Manipur to Maharashtra to put his point before the public, explained it to the people, told the people about it. So, we don’t just speak, we walk the talk.

This government today is trying to intimidate us, especially whatever penalty was to be imposed on our Congress Party, they have imposed that. Now the Supreme Court has asked not to do anything in the elections, then whether they will stop and not is yet to be seen. But they have already taken 135 crores from our treasury. Can such elections be held in a democracy? Is it allowed in democracy for everyone to fight on an equal footing? We had brought democracy and drove out the British so that we could live with dignity, save democracy, save the Constitution and let everyone live with dignity. We fought for this, the Congress Party got this country liberated and these people who had no contribution, no one in their family went to jail, no one sacrificed for the country, all while being in government jobs, they took this initiative to not to go with Congress. They had taken a vow not to participate in any of the movements of Gandhiji. So, such people must be told - loud and clear- that people want democracy, people want to protect the Constitution. We are ready to take this guarantee that has been placed before you, we accept it, but this is the work of our friends, whoever is the President, office bearers, workers, women workers, student unions. There is Youth Congress, there is Kisan Cell, everyone will work hard and bring glory to the Congress. I conclude my statement by saying this with confidence.”

On this occasion, besides Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary (Communications) Shri Jairam Ramesh, Delhi State In-charge and AICC General Secretary Shri Dipak Babaria, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely and others present were former DPCC Presidents Shri Subhash Chopra and Ch. Anil Kumar, MP Sayed Naseer Hussain, AIMC President Alka Lamba. Gurdeep Sappal, Pranab Jha, former MP Dr. Udit Raj, former Delhi ministers Haroon Yusuf, Mangatram Singhal, Rajkumar Chauhan and Dr. Narendra Nath, former MLAs Bhisham Sharma, Ch. Matin Ahmed, Hasan Ahmed, Neeraj Basoya, Vijay Lochav, Veer Singh Dhingan, Amrish Gautam, former leader of the MCD Jitender Kumar Kochar, senior leader Chattar Singh and large number of workers were also present.
