Members of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on 6th April launched a campaign to provide relief bags with ration and other essential for poor and migrant workers. It’s called "Rahul kit" in the name of the Congress Party leader Shri Rahul Gandhi to help those people in the country who have been severely hit and are suffering due to the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The IYC members are making parcels with packets of rice and pulse in cloth bags with pictures of Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi on them.
The IYC across India have become the true #CongressKeSipahi and are distributing essentials to the people in need. They’re not discriminating against states which aren’t under Congress rule and are continuing to spread hope and joy everywhere they go, ration in hand.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had sent sanitisers, face masks and soaps along with trucks full of wheat and rice to distribute among the people of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
Mr. Gandhi has represented the Amethi Lok Sabha seat since 1999. He lost the seat to Union Minister Smriti Irani in the last general elections and is currently a Member of Parliament from Wayanad constituency in Kerala.
Before that, on 5th April, Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by posting two pictures on Twitter that depicted that while the world is fighting the highly contagious virus with sanitisers and masks, India is doing the exact same, but with utensils and torches.
